What’s new in Dox POS
What changes in each version, told by what it changes for the person selling.
Back up your site before you update. It’s a good habit with any plugin and with WordPress itself: if something goes wrong, you restore it and your shop is back as it was.
Version 0.48.0 { October 8, 2026 }Latest
The Counter, for your physical store
Turn it on in Settings › Sales and the register gets a Counter tab: scan barcodes with a scanner or the camera, charge cash with the change in large type, card or several payment methods, and put a sale on hold.
See how it worksOpen and close the till, receipts and returns
Open the till with its float and close it counting the drawer. Every sale has a receipt for any printer, with a barcode that opens its return.
See how it works- A Counter cashier role that only reaches the Counter. Whoever does not manage the shop closes the till blind, and you can cap their discounts in Settings › Sales › Discounts. See how it works
Version 0.47.1 { October 6, 2026 }
- In Colombia, with Colciudades, a city typed without accents or in capitals (“medellin”) is saved with its proper name (“Medellín”). A place that is not on the list is saved as typed.
Version 0.47.0 { October 5, 2026 }
- A size that is already in the order (or in what arrived) shows how many with a “+2”, and a minus button next to it removes one without going to review.
A bar at the bottom to review the order
On the phone, Sell and Inventory no longer have two tabs at the top. When you add something, View the order (or Review and save) shows up at the bottom, with Keep searching to go back and Empty all, which asks first.
See how it worksProducts opens with your list
Products opens with the list of products and a New product button. Each product opens in its own card with an arrow to go back. If you leave with unsaved changes, the register asks: Save changes, Discard changes or Keep editing.
See how it works- On the phone, Download Excel and Upload costs sit under the Inventory search.
- When the register opens on the Dashboard, the Dashboard goes first in the bottom bar on the phone.
Version 0.46.0 { October 5, 2026 }
- When several sizes share the same units (a bodysuit labelled 18-24 months that also fits 12-18), the size marked as the one on the label is highlighted in Sell, Inventory and the product card, and the others say Also fits · it is the 18-24 months one.
- When the register or the website sells another size of that group, the order line says Actual size: 18-24 months, so whoever packs knows which piece to take. The store sees it in the orders and emails; the customer does not.
- The units in stock on the Dashboard counted the sizes of hidden products.
Version 0.45.0 { October 5, 2026 }
- If another plugin on your site sends one-time codes, the register sign-in offers Sign in with a code by email: the cashier types the 6-digit code and gets in with no password. Without such a plugin, nothing changes.
Version 0.44.0 { October 4, 2026 }
A bottom bar on the phone, like an app
On the phone, Sell, Orders, Inventory and the Dashboard (or My day for the Cashier role) sit in a bar at the bottom, within reach of your thumb. With more than five sections, More opens the rest.
- Orders shows the number of orders waiting on its icon.
- While you type on the phone, the bottom bar steps aside so the keyboard and the order total have room. On a tablet or a computer the tabs stay at the top.
Version 0.43.0 { October 4, 2026 }
Your WooCommerce payment methods, one click away
WooCommerce > Dox POS > Sales suggests the payment methods turned on in WooCommerce that the register does not have yet (Addi, Wompi, Mercado Pago...), one button each under Add payment method. None is added on its own.
See how it works- A sale recorded with one of them counts as paid, and WooCommerce never offers to refund it through that gateway.
- With a light bar and a main color close to it, the register tabs disappeared. Text, links and the “not paid yet” button now use the main color only when it reads well.
Version 0.42.0 { September 28, 2026 }
- A Help link at the top of the settings, next to the version, opens the Dox POS guide. Administrators also find it as Guide in the gear menu of the register.
- The sample total in the settings preview and in the layaway message was always 189,000, which showed as $189,000.00 in a store that sells in dollars. It is now a believable price in your currency.
- The size and color of the sample product in the settings preview showed in Spanish on sites in any language.
Version 0.41.1 { September 27, 2026 }
- When a website payment fails and WooCommerce gives the stock back, the ledger records it under its order, as “Payment failed #1234”.
- The order history in the register leaves out the notes WooCommerce adds for every email it sends, so your own notes are easy to find. They are still in WooCommerce.
Version 0.41.0 { September 21, 2026 }
Shipping costs, set from the register
The gear at the top opens Shipping costs: a fixed price, by weight, free from an amount or store pickup, for the whole country or some regions. They are your WooCommerce shipping zones, so the website charges the same.
See how it worksShipping by weight
Charge by the weight of the order in ranges (“up to 1 lb, 6; up to 5 lb, 10”), with a price for heavier orders. It works in the register and in the website checkout, with no extra plugin.
See how it worksWeight and size of the product
The product form asks for Weight and size in your store's units. The packages you use most show up as buttons, so a shop that ships almost everything in the same bag sets them with one tap.
See how it works- New category… in the product form creates a category on the spot. Categories with no products yet show up too, under More categories, so a new store can create its first product from the register.
- The sale asks for the Postcode in the countries that use one (the ZIP Code in the United States) and uses it to find the shipping zone. In Colombia nothing changes.
- With other Dox Studio plugins installed, the settings of Dox POS move to Dox Plugins > POS. Installed on its own, they stay in WooCommerce > Dox POS.
- When the store charges nothing for shipping to the place of a sale, the register says so instead of asking for the city again, and you can still type the amount by hand.
- A shipping cost written as a formula could leave the sale with no shipping options, and a few texts of the register showed in Spanish on sites in another language.
- In the copy installed from GitHub, an update could install the version with no Spanish translation. It now always gets the right one.
Version 0.40.0 { September 20, 2026 }
- Dox POS shows up in the shared Dox Plugins menu when other Dox Studio plugins are installed. The register stays where it was.
- In the copy installed from GitHub, a site in Spanish from Colombia, Mexico or any other country now sees the register in Spanish, not only a site in Spanish from Spain.
Version 0.39.0 { September 20, 2026 }
- Totals and headings use the font of the phone or the computer. If you prefer a serif, pick it in the Brand tab from fonts every device already has (Georgia, Palatino, Baskerville...). See how it works
- The register shows your site icon in the browser tab again, and when you add it to the home screen of a phone.
Version 0.38.1 { September 18, 2026 }
- Deleting the plugin no longer erases your settings, your brand, the address of the register or the Cashier role, so reinstalling it picks up where you left off. If you do want everything gone, turn on Also delete my settings when the plugin is deleted in the Screen tab.
Version 0.38.0 { September 18, 2026 }
The register follows your store's country
Payment methods (Nequi in Colombia, Zelle and Venmo in the United States), suggested carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx in the US; Coordinadora, Servientrega in Colombia...) and default sales channels now match the country set in WooCommerce.
See how it worksText messages where WhatsApp is not used
In countries like the United States, the layaway message, the shipping notice and every button to write to the customer open the phone's Messages app with the text ready. Messages to the customer in the Sales tab switches it for any store.
See how it works- Use the site's one finds the logo of more themes (UiCore, Flatsome, WoodMart, Avada, Divi), and says so when there is none.
- The switches in the settings are rows with a title and a line that says what they do.
- The Pro tab explains what the add-on is: an AI assistant that runs the shop with you.
Version 0.37.4 { September 18, 2026 }
- Dox POS can now be translated into any language from translate.wordpress.org.
Version 0.37.3 { September 17, 2026 }
- The Shipped order status reads Shipped on a site in English and Enviado on a site in Spanish.
Version 0.37.2 { September 17, 2026 }
- A Pro tab in the settings says what the paid add-on adds and links to the plans. It is not there if Dox POS Pro is already installed.
- The settings page is headed by the Dox POS logo, and the plugin page is now doxstudio.com/dox-pos.
Version 0.37.1 { September 14, 2026 }
- The Spanish translation no longer comes inside the plugin: it comes from translate.wordpress.org, as the plugin directory requires. See how it works
- On a site in Spanish, the default address of the register (/caja) follows the site language directly, with no translation needed.
Version 0.37.0 { September 10, 2026 }
- Google Fonts stay off until you turn them on in the Brand tab: a new install uses the fonts of the phone or the computer and connects to no outside service. If you had already chosen, your choice stays. See how it works
- The default address of the register follows the site language: /pos on a site in English, /caja on one in Spanish. Shops already on /caja stay there. In English the screen is called POS instead of Register. See how it works
- The register and its sign-in page now say they are in the language of your site, instead of a fixed one.
Version 0.36.0 { September 10, 2026 }
- The lists of the register no longer leave half a line empty: a long one splits into two columns that still read top to bottom.
- Add-ons such as Dox POS Pro can show their figures in the same cards as the Dashboard, so every screen counts in the same shapes.
Version 0.35.0 { September 9, 2026 }
- The chart of the last days switches between 7, 14, 30 and 90 days and remembers your choice on that device. Its total is the headline, with the daily average.
A tidier Dashboard
The Dashboard is laid out again: today's figures in three big cards, then one strip with the week, the month and what the add-ons contribute, and the lists in two columns. No more half-empty rows.
- Best sellers lists six products.
Version 0.34.0 { September 9, 2026 }
- Amounts with decimals: the register reads and shows prices, costs, discounts and shipping with your store's decimal separator, and the phone keyboard offers the decimal key. Stores with whole amounts see no change.
- The Sales tab warns you when “Manage stock” is off in WooCommerce, because then nothing lowers the stock.
- The Cashier role can no longer confirm the payment of a website order, cancel an order already shipped or delivered, or undo a stock entry from another day or another person. That is for administrators and shop managers. See how it works
- A sale only takes the channels set in Sales, and a discount larger than the products is rejected.
- Two sales of different sizes that share units, made at the same instant, now both count.
- A stock entry refuses a product that does not track stock and a date that does not exist, and if the entry cannot be saved, the stock is not touched.
- Uninstalling Dox POS no longer deletes the settings of Dox POS Pro.
- Cost imports skip the “(no SKU)” rows in any language, the Excel files and reports handle long periods, and the unit price in the order detail keeps your store's decimals.
Version 0.33.3 { September 9, 2026 }
- In Reports > Movements, filtering by a product shows a colored strip with its name and a See them all button, instead of a small line easy to miss. See how it works
Version 0.33.2 { September 9, 2026 }
- The Inventory list is titled just All products, with the count.
Version 0.33.1 { September 9, 2026 }
- Inventory no longer starts empty: before you search, it lists the whole catalog from A to Z, twenty at a time, and loads more as you scroll. The list refreshes after each entry so the stock is current. See how it works
Version 0.33.0 { September 9, 2026 }
Several groups of sizes that share units
In the same color, 0-6 and 6-12 months can share one set of units and 2-3 and 3-4 years another. Each size chooses Does not share, Shares or Shares, another group, and the color gets one Shared units box per group.
See how it works- The register, the website checkout, the ledger and the Excel files treat each group on its own. With one color and one group, everything stays as before.
Version 0.32.1 { September 9, 2026 }
- In the product form, Units is now one card per colour, with its sizes and its shared units, so a product with six colours no longer scrolls sideways on the phone; All sizes share ticks every size of that colour at once. See how it works
Version 0.32.0 { September 9, 2026 }
Shared units for each colour
In a product with several colours, each colour keeps its own shared units: selling a Coral size only lowers Coral's units, and the register warns with that colour's figure. The website checkout counts it the same way, so two customers cannot take the last unit.
See how it works- The inventory Excel, the Dashboard, the product card and the average cost count each colour's units once; a product with one colour works as before.
Version 0.31.2 { September 9, 2026 }
A Dashboard to see how the shop is doing
Administrators and shop managers get a Dashboard tab: sold today next to yesterday, today's profit, what is owed, the week and the month against the previous ones, what came in by payment method, the best sellers, the orders to handle and the stock. Salespeople keep landing on Sell.
- The register opens on the Dashboard for whoever manages the shop, and every card opens the tab it comes from; a switch in the settings turns that off.
- Sell no longer starts empty: before you type anything, it lists the best sellers of the last thirty days with their sizes and stock, ready to tap. See how it works
- The Units table is simpler: each size has a checkbox to share units, and the shared units get one box under the table with the list of sizes that use them. See how it works
Version 0.30.0 { September 9, 2026 }
- When you create or edit a product, each size chooses whether it draws from a shared total or keeps its own units, so 2-3 and 3-4 years can share stock while 6-12 months keeps its own count, without opening WooCommerce.
Version 0.29.2 { September 9, 2026 }
- A product where some sizes share the product's total and others carry their own units now shows all its sizes when you edit it; before, the whole table was hidden and those units could only be changed in WooCommerce.
- The controls at the top of Units no longer run into each other.
Version 0.29.0 { September 9, 2026 }
- A new product can carry one total for all its sizes, the way many shops keep their stock; selling any size lowers that total, and you can spread it by size later from Edit one.
- The History tab is now called Reports: sales, the day's cash, stock movements and performance. The order detail keeps its own History with the order's notes. See how it works
Version 0.28.1 { September 9, 2026 }
- With Dox POS Pro, whoever manages the shop opens the register on Today; everyone else keeps opening on Sell.
Version 0.28.0 { September 9, 2026 }
The product card opens right there
Tap a product anywhere (the assistant, the reports, the stock entries) and its card opens on the spot: photo, code, price, cost and profit per unit, units per size, category, and the buttons to edit it or see it in the store.
- Losses stand out: a Note a loss button on the order detail, and a red tag with the amount on the order, the orders list and the history.
- The profit comes out in colour: green when it reaches the shop's target margin, amber when it falls short, red when it is low. See how it works
Version 0.27.0 { September 9, 2026 }
Note the losses of an order
From the order detail, an administrator or shop manager can note what an order cost beyond the goods (a shipment that cost more, a refunded freight, a repair) with the reason. It comes off that sale's profit and shows in the history, the cash report and their Excel files.
Your own payment methods
Settings › Sales has Add payment method: a second Nequi account, Daviplata, Addi, whatever your shop takes. You can turn them off, rename or remove them, and a sale recorded with one counts as paid.
See how it works- When all the sizes of a product share one stock total, the register says so ("5 left for all sizes") instead of repeating the number on each size, and an order cannot take more than that total.
- Recording stock on one of those sizes says it goes to the shared total, and the product editor can spread that total by size.
Version 0.26.0 { September 8, 2026 }
- The stock tab is called Inventory, and the latest entries show each garment with its photo, name and quantity; tap one to open its product card. See how it works
Version 0.25.4 { September 8, 2026 }
- The View button on the assistant's review checks no longer opens a "That order does not exist" window.
Version 0.25.3 { September 8, 2026 }
- A refund in the shop no longer leaves the Orders tab blank.
- The settings cards no longer leave an empty column.
Version 0.25.1 { September 8, 2026 }
- Photos are reduced on the phone before uploading, so a 48-megapixel photo goes up as about 100 KB and works on any hosting. See how it works
Version 0.25.0 { September 8, 2026 }
- Photos from new phones (24 and 48 megapixels) no longer take minutes to process.
Version 0.24.8 { September 8, 2026 }
- The sales card in the history said "Sales" in English on a Spanish site.
Version 0.24.6 { September 8, 2026 }
- The total, the figures in the history and the headings use a cleaner font (Manrope instead of Libre Baskerville), so the register reads as a tool; if you already picked your own fonts, nothing changes.
Version 0.24.5 { September 8, 2026 }
- The "No logo: the name shows" notice in the settings follows the colour of the bar; with a dark bar it was black on black. See how it works
Version 0.24.4 { September 8, 2026 }
- The date on the order detail follows the language of the site; an English shop read "8 de September".
Version 0.24.3 { September 8, 2026 }
- Internal tweaks, nothing changes in what you see.
Version 0.24.1 { September 8, 2026 }
- Internal tweaks, nothing changes in what you see.
Version 0.24.0 { September 8, 2026 }
- New starting colours: a warm white, a dark bar and an orange button. The five colours are still yours to change in Brand, and a shop that already saved its own colours does not change. See how it works
- The placeholders in the WhatsApp messages are now in English ({name}, {items}, {hours}, {order}, {store}, {carrier}, {tracking}); the messages and tracking links you had already written are updated on their own. See how it works
Version 0.23.0 { September 8, 2026 }
- The texts inside the register are translated too, so the whole plugin is in English with the Spanish translation included; nothing changes on a Spanish site.
Version 0.22.0 { September 8, 2026 }
- Dox POS now comes in English, with the Spanish translation included; nothing changes on a Spanish site.
Version 0.21.1 { September 8, 2026 }
- A new switch in Brand, Load the fonts from Google Fonts: with it off, the plugin does not connect to any outside service. See how it works
- Installing the plugin no longer turns on the WooCommerce cost field: it is turned on when you save the settings with the costs switch on, and the card says so. See how it works
Version 0.21.0 { September 7, 2026 }
Costs and profit
Each product carries a cost per unit: set it when you create or edit it, or all at once from the inventory Excel. Every stock entry updates the average cost, every sale keeps its cost, and the history shows the profit and the margin. Only administrators and shop managers see it.
See how it works- The stock ledger shows what each unit cost in every movement, and the Excel files carry the cost, profit and value at cost.
Version 0.20.0 { September 7, 2026 }
- Dox POS updates from your WordPress dashboard like any other plugin, even before it is in the WordPress.org directory. See how it works
Version 0.19.0 { September 7, 2026 }
Dox POS and Dox POS Pro
The plugin is split in two: Dox POS, free, with the whole register, and Dox POS Pro, a separate add-on with the assistant. The register works fully without the Pro.
Version 0.18.0 and earlier { September 7, 2026 }
